The United Postal Stationery Society encourages research, and the exhibition of postal stationery

At the UPSS Spring Convention, held in conjunction with the Saint Louis Stamp Expo, there was considerable informal discussion concerning the “confusion” amongst the judges and others regarding the names of our postal stationery awards. Currently we have the local WSP show award – the Marcus White Award (MWA) and our annual champion of champions award – the Marcus White Showcase award. Marcus White was a stalwart of postal stationery and a prominent member of our society. Thus it is very fitting that our show award be named after him. However, having two awards, the show award and the annual award bearing similar names has created the confusion identified above. Therefore, the awards are being renamed. The WSP award will continue to be the Marcus White Award in his honor. The annual award will become the United Postal Stationery Society Champion of Champions (UPSS C of C) award. An additional change will be the ability of an exhibitor to win MWA’s at multiple WSP shows for the same exhibit if that exhibit has not won a UPSS C of C award within the last 5 years.
